Link-Belt Product Specialist for Lattice and Telescopic Crawler Cranes Michael Dawson participated in an AEM-hosted demonstration regarding above-ground worker safety on June 13 in Willington, Illinois. The event featured more than 40 officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Region 5 office and highlighted safety features engineered into cranes, telehandlers, and mobile-elevating work platforms.

Link-Belt marketing specialist Thomas Taylor is seen speaking at the demonstration in front of a 138 HSL lattice crawler crane.

The demonstration served to inform industry experts regarding the scope of current industry standards at large as part of an alliance program between AEM and OSHA. Established a year ago, the alliance seeks to further safety and health practices as well as programs to improve American workplaces and job sites.

Michael said he plans to incorporate what he learned at the event into his day-to-day work at Link-Belt. He noted it provided him with good information to pass along and share for our greater success.

“We can share experiences, share what we’re doing, share what they have found in the field,” Michael said. “There’s some stuff that I learned here that we can go back to the engineers with.”
