TCC-450:
RT crane capability, crawler crane mobility
Lexington, KY (May 2006) –
Link-Belt has partnered with its sister company, Hitachi Sumitomo
Construction Crane Co. to unveil the TCC-450 45-ton (40.8 mt),
Telescopic Crawler Crane that merges the capability of a rough terrain
crane with the mobility and stability of a crawler crane. This North
American compliant model is a derivative of HSC’s model introduced
earlier in 2005. It has already proved itself on jobsites worldwide with
the same bulletproof hydraulic components as Link-Belt’s renowned HYLAB
series.
Telescopic crawler cranes
have long been accepted in the power line and water tank construction as
well as right-of-way, foundation, and ‘tie back’ work. “As this work
continues to be more specialized and these units are accepted into
general construction and bridge building, the larger national rental
houses and contractors will move toward meeting this demand and add
these units to their fleets,” said Pat Collins, Lattice Crane product
manager, “…. It’s conceivable it could mean we expand to 3 or 4
different sized units.”
Link-Belt has responded to
customer requests and implemented numerous modifications for the North
American market as a result of input from both customers and
distributors alike.
Later this fall, Link-Belt will showcase
the TCC-450 at its CraneFest customer event in Lexington,
Ky.
