Five Link-Belt lattice boom crawler cranes hoist 850-ton offshore rig(Ingleside, Texas) April, 2000 — Five Link-Belt Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes hoist the 850-ton structure during the construction of the base of an offshore oil rig. The State Service Company, who is constructing the 850-ton base structure and the 850-ton platform structure, owns all five machines. EDC, Inc. and the Ecuadorian government commissioned State Service to build the offshore oil production platform. The structure will measure 153 ft. in length and 100 ft. in height and takes the State Service crew four to five months to build the base and another eight months to build the production platform. The lift features five Link-Belt cranes, the LS-278H 250-ton capacity, and four LS-518H 150-ton capacity cranes working together to reposition the structure for another phase of the construction. |
