Bridge builder’s special:
The Link-Belt 50-ton crane proving itself to be an all–around performer

Charlotte, NC (December 2000) — Rea Construction Co., with headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., is one of the largest contractors in the Southeast United States. Specializing in highway construction and asphalt paving, Rea Construction recently put their experience and skills to the test with a demolition and re-construction of two bridges in two North Carolina cities using new Link-Belt LS-108H II 50-ton capacity lattice boom crawler cranes.

The two bridges span two formidable obstacles; interstate I-40 south of Greensboro, and Sugar Creek, which spans State route 49 in Charlotte. To tackle these projects, Rea is utilizing their new Link-Belt LS-108H II cranes. These are cranes are already gaining a reputation among owners and operators as “bridge builder’s special” because of their small “footprint” size, weight, and ability to perform so many different functions.
