Gatwood Crane Rental Service buys 3 Link-Belt Truck Cranes
(Lexington, KY-July 2005 ) - Gatwood Crane Rental Service, Inc.,
Arlington Heights, IL not only purchased its very first Link-Belt crane
ever, they tripled it and purchased three HTC-8690 telescopic truck
cranes for delivery in the first quarter of 2005. The first crane
shipped in late February 2005.
Bill Stramer, vice-president of marketing, sales and customer support
at Link-Belt Construction Equipment Co. said, “We are honored that an
industry leading crane rental company like Gatwood would select our 90
ton crane after such a thorough market evaluation.”
Gatwood Crane Rental Service, Inc. was founded in 1947 as a crane
rental service company for Chicago area contractors. Under the previous
guidance and direction of Chuck Gatwood, and now with third generation
Ed Gatwood, they have grown and expanded to become one of the largest
crane rental companies in the Chicagoland area with a fleet of over 40
cranes ranging from 10 to 360 ton lifting capacity.
McAllister Equipment Co., with headquarters in Alsip, IL, has been a
Link-Belt distributor for 50 years and in addition to the headquarters
has full crane service at its three other Illinois branch locations in
E. Peoria, Ingleside and Rockford.
Mike
McNamara, McAllister area manager, is very enthusiastic about the
Gatwood/Link-Belt/McAllister relationship. “With this expanded product
offering, Gatwood will be able to meet their customers’ needs with a
high quality product backed by the area’s dealer of choice. The HTC-8690
telescopic truck crane fills a unique niche: transportability. With its
dimensions, it is the only truck crane in its size class that is able to
be transported at any time, day or night, within the strict Illinois
permit regulations.”
Link-Belt telescopic cranes have earned an enviable position of
leading the market with truck crane designs since the introduction of
the HTC-8665 at CONEXPO in 1996. The new HTC-8690 is the most recent
truck crane design in this long heritage of job proven telescopic truck
crane designs.
