Job proven HTC-8650 SII upgraded

Lexington, Ky (October 2004) -- The highly successful, job proven HTC-8650 Series II, 50-ton telescopic truck crane has been upgraded and further enhanced with the addition of several new features. Probably the most visible change is a next generation operator's cab featuring a larger, roomier operator station with a new sweeping curved front window glass for unprecedented visibility. Because of market demand, Link-Belt’s exclusive CabWalk, now has become a standard feature for easy access to the operator’s cab.

The HTC-8650 SII has also been beefed up with the new, larger Caterpillar C-11 engine, while meeting new emissions requirements. The new Cat C-11 features:

  • 365 horsepower (272.2 kW) – an increase of 30 horsepower
  • 1,350 ft-lbs (1 830 J) of torque – an increase of 100 ft-lb of torque

“With these new additions, we feel we have raised the bar once again for establishing the top performance criteria for telescopic truck cranes.“ says Rick Curnutte, telescopic crane product manager.
