Job proven 308 upgraded to H5 series

(Lexington, KY) – Link-Belt has upgraded the industry leading LS-308H II crawler crane to the HYLAB 5 series. The 308H5 is a 110-ton (99.8 mt) rig designed for more severe applications than the everyday lift crane. This “heavy duty” job proven crane will now share the improvements common to all H5 models with the most noticeable being the remodeled larger operator’s cab.

The wider, roomier cab has grown by 6 inches in width while the machine has retained its great transportability capabilities. The wider cab allows room for new single axis controllers with adjustable left-hand swing control and a sliding right hand console. .

The 308H5 features the SML-10 load moment system which incorporates the very latest Sumitomo/Link-Belt design, displaying load-on-hook, as well as maximum allowable load-on-hook, boom length, boom angle, tip height, and audible warning. In addition, the SML-10 features a function kick out for both overload and anti-two block occurrences. This load moment system utilizes load sensing in the boom hoist dead end to feed data to the load limiter computer.

The 308 has earned an impressive reputation for high production under heavy loads as well as strong attachment strength for high side loading applications commonly found in dragline, clam or magnet duty cycle. Additionally, HYLAB cranes across the board have a reputation for having the most reliable hydraulic system on any lattice crane today. And to even further enhance and extend the bulletproof performance, a remote-mounted hydraulic oil cooler is mounted on the right side of the house of the 308H5, with a hydraulic thermostatically controlled fan motor driving the cooler.

While the aesthetics have also been updated, the 308H5 carries the same solid attachment and lift capacities as the original 308H models. New engine power for the 308 H5 is the Tier II-compliant Mitsubishi 6D24-TLA2E.
