Link-Belt Construction Equipment Company announces CONEXPO/CONN-AGG '99 plansLexington, Ky. (January 18, 1999) — Link-Belt Construction Equipment Company, announced plans to introduce seven new cranes at the 1999 CONEXPO / CON-AGG exhibition in Las Vegas, on March 23-27. Daily live demonstrations of the latest advancements in crane design and technology will be on display at Link-Belt’s 14,500 sq. ft. outdoor display — booth # B606. In the rough terrain crane market, Link-Belt will introduce three new cranes. A new 30-ton crane with two boom options — 78-feet full power with bi-fold swing-around extension and 91-feet full-power boom. A 40-ton has a base rating of 40-tons and a standard boom length of 105 feet with a 51-foot bi-fold swing-around attachment. The third new RT crane is a 70-ton capacity crane with 127 feet of standard boom. All three RT cranes offer new features including ladder-bar suspension system for faster travel speeds and increased operator comfort, direct mount transmissions, electronic shift transmissions, external light bars for improved communications and flat-deck carriers. "People will leave our booth saying, ‘this is what the future of RT cranes is going to look like,’" said Pat Collins, crane product manager. Link-Belt returns to the big crane market with the introduction of a 250-ton (226.8 mt) capacity crane and introduces a redesigned crawler crane with the latest technological advancements. The LS-278H hydraulic lattice crawler crane features 330 feet of main boom or 300 feet of boom plus a 100-foot jib, all hydraulic controls, remote counterweight removal system, a state-of-the-art operator’s cab and is powered by a Cummins 440 hp. engine. The redesigned LS-138H II has an increased base rating of 80-tons (72.6 mt), increased tubular boom of 190 feet and increased tubular jib to 60 feet. The LS-138H II also has many new features including a new counterweight removal system with two-25,250 lbs. counterweights, Pin-on boom hoist bail, wider and longer lower sideframes which retract to 11’ – 11" and a midpoint suspension system. Link-Belt is also introducing a new truck crane that features the latest technological advancements in truck crane design. The HTC-8640, the latest addition to the Link-Belt truck crane line, features the longest standard boom in the three-axle truck class. The HTC-8640 also features a flat-deck carrier, hand-held outrigger controls and 360 degree mechanical swing lock. The HTC-8640’s engine provides the power to merge into highway traffic, cruise at 65 mph., and arrive at the next job site quickly and safely. Located next to the Las Vegas Convention Center’s marquee, Link-Belt will conduct live demonstrations everyday 10, 12 and 2 p.m., to showcase the various machines and product displays. There will also be an on-site, climate controlled tent which will house the reception area, parts display, SalesPro computer CD’s for Link-Belt cranes display, audio/visual conference rooms and lots of comfortable seating for visitors. |
