Link-Belt hosts 650 customers at CraneFest 2000

Lexington, Kentucky (Oct. 2, 2000) — Link-Belt Construction Equipment Company hosted more than 650 customers, distributors and national media during CraneFest 2000 at its manufacturing facility in Lexington, Ky. During the weeklong CraneFest 2000, Link-Belt introduced six new crane products and two new lattice boom luffing attachments to the market. It also took time in a separate event with all employees to celebrate its’ 125th anniversary as a company, with the last 25 years located in Lexington, KY.

Link-Belt President Chuck Martz, welcomed CraneFest attendees and presented Link-Belt’s operational goals and manufacturing philosophies implemented in 1994 that in recent years has taken Link-Belt to the forefront of crane manufacturers, worldwide.

John Claflin, VP Sales and Marketing touched on the ‘Investments in the Future’ and went on to identify major capital outlays in design engineering, manufacturing efficiencies and automated eBusiness technical information via the internet.

Bill Stramer, Director of Crane Marketing and Sales introduced the 8 new products being unveiled during Cranefest 2000, which included 6 new cranes and 2 new luffing attachments.

Guests toured the 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and were asked to ‘Measure the Difference’ of how Link-Belt has emerged as the leading manufacture of quality cranes in North America.

After the tour, Link-Belt rolled out its “Class of 2000” featuring six new cranes and two new luffing attachments. The new products included the RTC-8050, a 50-ton rough terrain, the RTC-8060, a 60-ton rough terrain, the HTC-8660, a 60-ton hydraulic truck crane, the LS-108H II, a 50-ton lattice crawler, the LS-218H II, a 110-ton lattice crawler crane, and the HC-238H II, a 150-ton lattice boom truck crane. Two brand new luffing attachment designs were also unveiled for the HC-238H II and the LS-278H, a 250 ton lattice crawler crane.
