
Link-Belt selects Cat power for worldwide needs
Lexington, KY (April 10, 2007) — Link-Belt announced that to meet future worldwide engine
emission regulations, it has chosen Caterpillar power for four
telescopic truck crane models. The HTC-8640SL, 40-ton (36.3-mt) ,
HTC-8660 Series II, 60-ton (45.4-mt), HTC/HTT-8690, 90-ton
(81.7-mt) cranes will feature Caterpillar C-13 12.5L engines. The
new Cat engines in the 8640SL and 8660 II
are rated at 365 hp (272.2 kW) and 1,350 ft-lbs (1 830 Nm)
of torque. The 8690’s Cat is rated at 445 hp (331.8 kW) and 1,550
ft-lbs (2 101.5 Nm) of torque.
Link-Belt also announced that two rough terrain crane models, the 65-ton
(60-mt ) RTC-8065 Series II and the 75-ton (68-mt)
RTC-8075, will join the 90-ton (90.7-mt) RTC-8090 Series II in
using the Caterpillar C6.6, 6.6L, 225-hp (167.8-kW) engine with
727 ft-lbs (986 Nm) of torque. “After a thorough investigation,
Caterpillar was chosen as the best choice for our short and long term
needs,” said Rick Curnutte, Product Manager for Telescopic Cranes.
