Link-Belt announces changes in Customer Support group

LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 2001) — John Toher, director, customer support, announced the promotion of Troy Krumm to the position of manager, technical support and Vi Ralston to supervisor, customer service with the retirement of Wayne Bierman and George Nolte after 38-years and 35-years, respectively. In a separate announcement, Michael Liu has been named, district service representative for western United States and the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Troy, a 15-year Link-Belt veteran, brings a valuable combination of field and factory experience, as well as a wealth of product knowledge to his new position. He has served in positions including crane operator, crane mechanic, district service representative, and most recently as supervisor of customer services.

Vi will replace Troy as supervisor, customer service. Vi has served in a number of positions in technical publications, parts and materials management, and is well qualified to manage the customer service function.

Michael has been named as the district service representative. Michael will provide crane service and support in the western United States, which includes California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, portions of Montana and Wyoming, and the Canadian province of British Columbia. Michael has 23 years of construction equipment service experience serving in a variety of support related positions including service manager for Mardian Equipment, a Link-Belt cranes distributor.

Retiring after 38-years, Wayne Bierman began his career with the Link-Belt Speeder Corp. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1963, as a district service representative before moving to Lexington in 1989 as manager, service training. In 1993 Wayne was appointed to the position of manager, technical product support. He has represented Link-Belt as a member of the CCO Committee of Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SCRA).

George Nolte is also retiring after a 35 years, starting with the Link-Belt Speeder, Corp. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1966. He has served in various customer support positions, including district service representative. George was appointed as manager, warranty administration in 1983 and assigned to the Lexington manufacturing facility in 1986.
