making
Tour a Bluegrass bourbon
distillery to learn the art of producing and the history behind this
true Kentucky tradition. Three Bluegrass distilleries (with three
distinct personalities) provide tours:
- Chocolate & bourbon - a winning
combination
Take a tour to see how bourbon
chocolates are made. You'll want to take home an ample supply!
- Driving tours
The serenity and beauty of
horse farm country in the Bluegrass cannot be matched anywhere in the
world. Contact the Convention and Visitors Bureau, 301 East Vine
Street.(859-233-7299 or 800-845-3959) to get a copy of the Lexington
Walk and Bluegrass Country Driving Tour.
- Rock fences
An unusual feature distinct to
the Bluegrass, rock fences dating back to the mid 1800's line many
rural roads. Built by Irish stonemasons and freed slaves, these
beautiful rock fences were built with abundant native limestone using
no mortar.
